Packing List

  • REQUIRED
    • Tent & plastic ground cloth (larger than tent floor); tent fly to shed rain
    • Sleeping bag (or blankets) NOTE: IT CAN GET COLD, prepare for nighttime temps in the 30's to be safe
    • Camp chair (for adults to sit by fire)
    • Bug spray and sunscreen
    • Flashlight and/or glow sticks for the kids
    • Any medicines needed by parents/kids (Epi-pens, asthma inhalers, etc.)
    • A few changes of clothes (kept in car) as tents do leak and water guns abound
    • Lunch for Saturday
    • Beer/booze for sitting around the campfire
    • River Trip specific items:
      • Hats and sunblock
      • Towel(s)
      • Plastic or dry bag for any goods, cameras, etc.
      • If you plan on walking on the bridge (to jump or not) bring water shoes! The wood is very splintery.
    • A good sense of humor and “a day in the woods beats a day in the office” mindset!


  • SUGGESTED
    • Sleeping pad/air mattress
    • Pillows
    • Sunglasses and hat
    • Facial and hand wipes
    • Battery powered lanterns, flashlights
    • Sturdy hiking shoes if you go a’ climbing … sneakers with good support are fine


  • NOT NEEDED
      • Hatchets or knives (NOT ALLOWED!)
      • Bear bells
      • Electronic video games; DS; Ipads, IPhones … the idea is to get away from all those electrons
      • Cooking gear
      • Generators
      • Firewood (we’ll provide)
      • Silly String and firecrackers are NOT permitted: one is a pain to clean up and the other is ILLEGAL
